Jello: A Different Liquid Layout

Note: This page has nothing whatsoever to do with the gelatin dessert, [Jell-O](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelatin_dessert). It’s describing a technique for web designers. The current version of it is described in my article for P.I.E.

This new design sports what I believe to be a _brand new_ way of creating a website that is flexible relative to one’s browser.

Docking Is Better Than Floating

Note: This article is more whimsy than tutorial. If you’re looking for instructions on how to dock a footer, I’ve found [this method](http://www.themaninblue.com/writing/perspective/2005/08/29/) to be excellent.

Any web-standards person will tell you that CSS is better than tables, for laying out a site. This site uses CSS instead of tables. They’ll probably also tell you that as powerful as they are, some CSS techniques are just barely worth the effort.
