A Musical Baton

May 18th, 2005 0

It seems that Jonathan Fenocchi has passed me an almost-legitimate _Musical Baton_. So here’s my contribution to the [meme](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme).

###Total Volume

4.91 GB in /home/Mike/My Music/

###Last CDs Purchased

[Beauty From Pain](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007QOEPY/), by Superchic[k]. It was a bit of an impulse buy, but I’ve happened to enjoy most of it, particularly the title track. They’ve changed a lot since their contribution to the Legally Blonde soundtrack, and I think I like the most recent version. Not as rock-ish, but more thoughtful lyrically.

[Imaginarium](http://www.danielamos.com/store/), by Terry S. Taylor. It’s a collection of favourite songs from three of Doug TenNapel’s games: The Neverhood, Skullmonkeys, and Boombots. Bizarre and delightful, all at the same time.

###Playing Right Now

Carly Simon — Nobody Does It Better

###Five Favourites

* U2 — Mysterious Ways
* Guns ‘N Roses — Sweet Child of Mine
* Dandy Warhols — Bohemian Like You
* Delirious — My Glorious
* Jann Arden — Thing For You

###Passing It Along

* [Kristy Sammis](http://shewalks.blogspot.com/)
* [Doug TenNapel](http://tennapel.com/)
* [Rands](http://randsinrepose.com)
* [Kevin Menzel](http://kmenzel.blogspot.com)

  1. This is just as bad as a chain letter…well…almost

  2. Really it is, yeah.

    But all the big dogs do it… It’s a chance for people to tune their cultural antennae and pretend that the have a highly sophisticated taste outside the mainstream.

    Which I, of course, do not. I listen to whatever I feel like, which is usually what everyone else is listening to.

  3. At first I thought it was like a chain letter as well, but there was no, “*if you don’t pass this on your mother will burn in hell*” at the end, so it can’t possibly be chain mail. ;)

    I generally just listen to whatever the hell I want as well, unfortunately that does mean that I have to find what I want first and then either buy it or download it. Luckily I like a wide variety of music, so I’m good.
