My name’s **Mike Purvis** and I’m an engineering student at the [University of Waterloo](http://uwaterloo.ca/). My interests include web design and coding, as well as traveling, cooking, cycling, and swing dancing.

This site has existed since 2004 in one form or another. The present configuration is as a Wordpress blog. Wordpress appeals to me for its extensive plugin architecture, reasonably clean code base, strong project leadership, and sensible database layout.
