About

Hi there,
My name’s Mike Purvis and I’m an engineering student at the University of Waterloo. My interests include web design and coding, as well as traveling, cooking, cycling, and swing dancing.
This site has existed since 2004 in one form or another. The present configuration is as a Wordpress blog. Wordpress appeals to me for its extensive plugin architecture, reasonably clean code base, strong project leadership, and sensible database layout.
I’m not available in the near future, but a summary of my qualifications is here.

Current Projects
- book writing: I recently authored a book about Google Maps, which was released by Apress in August of 2006.
- tron09.com: This site houses a forum and wiki installation, running a custom, unified theme. During the school year it is accessed daily by the majority of my 100-person engineering class.
- Wordpress: I have a few small Wordpress plugins.
